Summary:
Responsible for the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and education of assigned patients; prioritizing patient care based on acuity level and available resources.
Assist physicians during examination, treatment, and procedures; administering prescribed medications, changing dressings, cleaning wounds, monitoring vital signs; assessing and coordinating patients' discharge planning needs with team members.
Monitoring and maintaining accurate patient medical records; and communicating patient condition as appropriate using computerized documentation systems.
Communicate and collaborate with physicians or specialists regarding patient care.
Assess the psychological, social, and emotional needs of patient's family/significant others.
Additionally, RNs working in our fast-paced environment must be able to adapt to changes in workload assignment, function as Fast Track, Triage, or Charge nurse as needed; and accept assignments in any of our two ED locations (Vista East, Lindenhurst)
Qualifications:
Registered Nurse in Illinois BSN / MSN preferred CPR, ACLS certification; PALS preferred Emergency or critical care experience strongly preferred Experience in an acute care setting required Travel to other Vista Health sites may be required On-call & Call-in support is required (home dept.
or other VHS locations) Recommended Skills Adaptability Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (Acls) Cpr Certified Nurse Practitioner Communication Health Care Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
