The Therapist will provide therapy to adults on probation that can consist of individual, couples and/or family counseling.
Becoming a Mental Health Therapist would allow you to be involved with probationers within local government, ranging from providing psychoeducational groups based on evidence-based practices to adults on probation that include anger management, parenting skills, and the gender-specific Women FIRST group.

Hours of Work Generally, Monday - Friday 8 hours per day Flexible Schedule of remote and on-site work Essential Functions Provide consultation to Probation Officers regarding clinical issues involving probationers.
Provides consultation with residential treatment providers to ensure continuity of care.
Provides crisis intervention to probation clients when needed.
Provides consultations to Probation Officers regarding clinical issues involving probationers.
Conducts in-service training for probation staff on psychology-related topics.
Seeks out and attends professional conferences and training workshops for personal development All other duties as assigned Knowledge Skills Abilities and Education Required We prefer that candidates have a strong interest in working with dual-diagnosis clients and have knowledge/experience in the field of substance abuse treatment and Trauma-Informed Care.
Individual should have experience in individual therapy, group therapy, and family-focused treatment; one-year experience in the field of clinical psychology or clinical social work is preferred.
Must have the ability to make accurate DSM-5TR diagnoses, work independently, and develop and maintain cooperative working relationships with staff and clients along with good personal computer skills (Microsoft environment).

Candidates must be a U.
S.
citizen and live in Illinois at time of hiring or within six (6) months of employment.
Candidates for this position must be certified by the Administrative Office of the Illinois Courts (AOIC).
