This position performs clerical and customer service work of moderate difficulty pertaining to legal records of a sensitive nature and the operation of a multi-line telephone system, serving as a receptionist if needed greeting customers and determining services needed.
Assist with a variety of vital records, tax redemption and election work as needed.
The incumbent in this position will respond to diverse public inquiries of substantive nature of accuracy and in a professional manner.
This position also works various assignments ranging from customer service to administrative duties which will include interruptible work requiring training and knowledge in specialized subjects.
Bilingual in English and Spanish is strongly desired.
Essential Functions Performing notarial acts, processing the registration of Notary commissions, Assumed Business Name applications, Solicitor Registration applications, Statement of Economic Interest filings, issuing birth, death, marriage/civil union licenses Processing payment transactions of statutory fees Data entry, filing, and photocopying Preparing, printing and scanning records for in person, mail and electronic requests Demonstrate receptionist skills and serve public respectfully Assist Vital Records, Tax Redemptions and Election Departments Knowledge Skills Abilities and Education Required Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite Comfort level using PC and browser-based software Able to learn industry specific computer processes quickly Ability to work individually and with a team within a a fast-paced environment Pay careful attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy Exercise discretion and confidentiality Strict adherence to legal controls, office policies and ethical principles Ability to multitask and effectively problem solve Demonstrate strong communication skills in both written and verbal form Effectively communicate with customers, co-workers and supervisors Bilingual in English and Spanish strongly desired Education and/or Other Requirements:
Complete standard high school program with excellent performance Associate's degree or college level coursework strongly preferred Three or more years of experience in customer service, record management and related administrative role Supplemental Information Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for extended periods of time.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
