Description

Defines, plans & designs client area application systems requirements for new or modified applications, in the preparation of application system specifications, and in the development, testing, and implementation of efficient, cost effective application solutions.

Key Responsibilities Include:

Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures.
Provide system performance optimization, maintenance and production support.
Refine conceptual system requirements into a technical design consisting of job flows and program specifications,
Aid in the systems development process, including planning & monitoring systems development efforts, coordinating activities within other groups, reviewing deliverables and communicating to management.
Understand customers' business objectives and system requirements and work closely with customers to determine their strategic information requirements and measure performance against expectations. Assist in customer resolution.
Define implementation activities and assign individual responsibilities; assume leadership role for implementation activities; coordinating implementation with other parts of the enterprise and provide routine status of activities to Project Mgr or direct supervisor.
Develop project plans, schedules and resource requirements.
In specialized systems (ie. SAP) effectively set options to change the way the program works (configuration responsibiities).
Directs the work of technical, programming support and less experienced staff. Participates in the technical evaluation of assigned staff and in the identification of development needs.
Works under general management direction.
Normally determines technical objectives of assignments.
Exercises latitude in approach to problem and solution.
Work is reviewed to determine if desired results and objectives have been achieved.
Erroneous recommendations or failure to obtain outcomes would normally result in project delays and considerable expenditure of resources.

Qualifications

Basic:

Bachelor's degree plus 6
years experience, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
6
years experience.

Preferred:

Pharmaceutical and Life Sciences domain expertise
Work experience with all aspects of project life cycle management and delivery (SDLC)
Work experience with ArisGlobal suite of products including ARISg, agXchange, E2B reporting and software integrations with FAX server
Working knowledge of Documentum software, WebLogic, Oracle and Citrix
Good understanding of Pharmacovigilance, Safety and clinical guidelines
Experience with Windows, Unix and Linux operating systems
In-depth technical knowledge and the ability to maintain expertise in a rapidly changing, technically complex information technology environment
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and strong interpersonal, oral and written communications skills, with the ability to effectively interact with customers at all levels
