Lead Sourcing Specialist

Medline Industries, Inc. is seeking Lead Sourcing Specialists for its SPT (Sterile Procedure Tray) Division. This position will primarily be responsible for managing the supplier purchases for surgical kits.
Individual will be responsible for the following tasks and duties:
- Negotiating with current suppliers on price and obtain cost reductions, working with a yearly budget in excess of $100 Million.
- Analyze spend data and supplier bids in MS Access, MS SQL, conduct Request for Proposals (RFPs) in Ariba for pharmaceutical suppliers.
- Evaluate key suppliers and multi-sourcing opportunities to determine the best purchasing strategies and submit new purchasing cost conditions in AS400 and SAP.
- Manage purchasing activities for India-based vendors, monitor the raw material indices for cotton and plastic, communicate issues with different departments and recommend solutions.
- Experience in sourcing glass and packaging components including corrugate, cartons and labels.
- Develop specifications for new products and conduct cost analyses.
- Manage activity for Medline part numbers, and establish new part numbers for supplier moves, packaging optimization and costing.
- Work with suppliers on quality issues and also work with internal quality for calculating debits for replacement products.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Master's Degree in Business Administration, Management, Industrial Engineering or any related Operations or Engineering field of study that provided the required knowledge and abilities. Individual must also have a minimum of 2 years of related experience in any position providing the required skills and abilities. Individual must also have demonstrable abilities and experience with the following:
- Negotiation of supply and vendor contracts utilizing a budget of at least $40 Million per year.
- At least 6 months' Purchasing or Product development experience in the medical industry.
- MS Excel, Access and SQL
- Ariba, eBreviate
- SAP and/or AS400
Any suitable combination of education, training or experience is acceptable. The term suitable, in this context, means substantial compatibility with stated academic level and job experience requirements and ability to perform job duties.
Additional Information: The position also requires domestic and international travel to suppliers and vendors approximately ten percent (10%) of the time. No telecommutingEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
