Applications Manager
The applications team at Company is critical in the development of new food and beverage product formulations. These formulations are created to effectively showcase Company's unique flavor profiles to our customers. The applications team works in collaboration with the flavor creations team in ideation and new concept development by providing feedback regarding the impacts of developed flavor profiles to the rest of the formulation. In addition, for select customers, the applications team does full product development as well as provides technical assistance to customers for finished products and supports product scale up at the customer facilities.

This is a hands-on position that will lead and manage the applications team. He or she will be responsible for working closely with R&D, Sales, and Marketing in developing winning strategies for Company's customers and selected markets. The Applications Manager is also responsible for maintaining and improving project tracking and overall efficiencies in response times. Travel approximately 10%.

Roles and
Responsibilities:
Management of the applications of flavors for customer products or internally developed bases
Manage and mentor a professional team of food scientists
Proactive product development of food and beverage systems demonstrating the efficacy of our flavors and the overall creative capability of our organization
Hands-on bench work
Foster technical to technical relationships with customers
Play an active role in presentations to customers

Required
Experience:
Bachelors in Food Science or other related applied science; Masters preferred
8
years of product development experience in foods, beverages and flavors; 10
preferred
5
years progressive people management experience in a food or food ingredient company

Required Skills:
Expertise in flavor applications, the selection and testing of flavors for a broad range of food products, understanding usage rates, interactions of flavors with other food ingredients, effects of further processing
Understanding of the use rates and applications for preservatives, acidulants, stabilizers and colors
Knowledge of pilot equipment, (UHT, Homogenization, etc.)
Skilled in Good Laboratory Practice for a food product development laboratory
Strong oral and written communications skills to interact with customers, account managers and technical staff
Ability to lead and mentor the applications team; consensus building
Strong understanding of sensory science to include different methodologies
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
